Elana Morgan – litefm’s Woman of the Week

War Dogs is excited to learn that our own VP Director, Elana Morgan, was named Woman of The Week by Lite FM 93.9-Chicago. She was nominated by Danielle Lanini, her coworker at Morgan’s Dogs, which Elana also owns. Danielle wrote a touching letter to LiteFM’s Diane Banks about Elana’s work training dogs to help veterans with PTSD.

In the interview, Elana talks about the problems faced by returning veterans, and how the War Dogs program works. She describes how veterans are matched with dogs, and the twice-a-week, three-hour training sessions she puts them through.

She talks about how the dogs bring not only comfort, but also structure and unconditional love into the veteran’s lives. Listen as they discuss War Dogs Making It Home’s mission to rescue and train “Deathrow Dogs” to become companion, service dogs for returning combat veterans coping with Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PSTD).
